As Coordinator of Online Learning Support at the Center for Instruction and Research Technology at University of North Florida, I managed a small team of student employees who logged over 6000 support interactions with faculty in various modalities, including email, telephone support, and Zoom consultations.


The above image is taken from the CIRT Annual Report (2020). The OLS team coordinates CIRT’s faculty workshops. In Academic Year 2020, CIRT hosted 148 faculty workshops, most of which were Canvas-focused. Follow up surveys indicate that faculty overwhelmingly agree that the sessions provide practical information for use in teaching and/or research and that time was used Figure 4. The mission of the Center for Instruction & Research Technology (CIRT) is to offer expertise, resources, and training to assist faculty in ways that enable them to develop greater capacities for using technology for teaching and research. CIRT also disseminates ideas, frameworks, and materials that apply pedagogical knowledge to the teaching and learning process.


CIRT's Online Learning Support Team (OLS) provides Canvas support to UNF faculty. The OLS Team includes professional staff and student assistants that are available to support faculty with their online learning needs. We are available by consultation, phone, and email. In addition to providing individual support, we offer scheduled and On Demand workshops.
